CRNS Updated Administrative Bylaws – Effective October 2, 2024

Effective October 2, 2024, the CRNS has updated the administrative bylaws. This update reflects recent legislative changes and enhances our regulatory framework. The administrative and regulatory bylaws were reorganized into two distinct sections within the bylaws document.

Here is a summary of the key changes made:

  • Eligibility for Council Appointments and Term of Office: The bylaws outline who is eligible/ ineligible for appointment to the CRNS Council and the term of office.
  • Removal or Suspension from Office: Should conditions be met where the council member fails to comply with the Council Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy, cease to be a member in good standing, or become ineligible to hold office, a process exists to remove or suspend the council member.
  • Supervised Practice Experience Registered Nurse Membership Fee: A supervised practice experience has recently been included in the regulatory bylaws as an option for both maintaining and initial registration eligibility. Therefore, it is necessary to outline the associated fee structure.
  • Remaining changes: Relate to the renumbering and resequencing of items within the bylaws document.

Thank you for your attention to these changes and for your continued dedication to the profession. For questions relating to the CRNS bylaws, please contact Donna Marin, RN at dmarin@crns.ca
