How to Apply for the NCLEX-RN for Internationally Educated Nurses

Steps to Write the NCLEX®-RN:

  1. Received notification from the CRNS advising you are eligible to write the NCLEX®-RN.
  2. Register for the NCLEX-RN examination with Pearson VUE and pay the required fee of $378.00. Your NCLEX Registration Acknowledgement email will contain your NCSBN ID number, this 8-digit number is required for the next step.
  3. Then complete the CRNS NCLEX Application form and $136.50 fee on the CRNS Portal.
  4. Once your exam application has been verified by the CRNS you will receive an email that you have been made eligible to write the exam.
  5. Pearson VUE will email the Authorization to Test (ATT) to you, if you do not receive your ATT email after 3 business days, please send an email to exams@crns.ca. You must book your exam appointment within the dates stated on the ATT. If an applicant does not write the exam within the validity dates, the Pearson VUE NCLEX®-RN application will be cancelled, and the fee is non-refundable.
  6. You can now book your exam date. Once your exam is booked, you will receive a confirmation email from Pearson VUE regarding your scheduled exam. 

Testing Accommodations

If you have a professionally recognized diagnosis of a disability, impairment, condition, or disorder which could affect your exam performance, you can request a testing accommodation.

To request testing accommodations, complete the Testing Accommodation package.

You can only write at a permanent Pearson VUE testing centre when you have testing accommodations.
