Indigenous Nurses Day (April 10, 2026)

On April 10th we celebrate Indigenous Nurses Day, recognizing the strength, culture and health care contributions and achievements of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis nurses in Saskatchewan.

CRNS Council public representative, Katherine Bergman, will bring greetings and do the land acknowledgment as we gather to celebrate Indigenous Nurses Day with the Indigenous Nursing (kā-wīci-pimohtēmāt) Professional Practice Group.

On our path to reconciliation, the CRNS is committed to recognizing, respecting, and addressing the distinct health needs of Indigenous people's and addressing the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual harms caused by residential schools and colonization. Reconciliation requires understanding of our colonial history and for all nurses to respond to the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action.

Wishing all First Nations, Inuit, and Métis nurses in Saskatchewan a meaningful and inspiring day of celebration and reflection.
