Continuing Competence Program: Start Early, Build Throughout the Year

Updating your learning plan isn’t just something to complete once a year at renewal. The Continuing Competence Program (CCP) is designed to support ongoing learning and professional growth throughout the year.

Think of CCP as something you build over time. Start your plan early in the year, add learning activities as you complete them and review your progress as renewal approaches. This can make the process easier to manage and help ensure your learning plan fully reflects your development in practice.

You may have already completed activities that could support your CCP, such as:

  • Attending an education session, workshop or conference
  • Participating in workplace training or learning new equipment
  • Reading new practice resources, a book or journal article relevant to your role and your learning goal(s)

All of these can be part of your learning plan and demonstrate how you are maintaining and enhancing your competence in practice.

If you haven’t started yet, sign in to the CRNS Portal and go to “My Learning”. Adding one learning goal now is a great first step.
