Updated Resource: Professional Boundaries and the Nurse-Client Relationship

The updated Professional Boundaries and the Nurse-Client Relationship resource is now available on the CRNS website.

This resource has been updated on the CRNS five-year review cycle to:

  • reference the CRNS’s Code of Conduct;
  • further define key components, principles and concepts related to professional boundaries and the therapeutic nurse-client relationship;
  • include warning signs of crossing a boundary, providing nursing care to family members or friends, commencing relationships with a current or former client, gifts, technology usage; and,
  • include an updated decision-making framework for appropriate professional behaviour.
